Gordlinia grandiflora
The sweet tea bush.
Its common name given by its relation to the tea plant this semi-evergreen shrub can be grown in a planter making it ideal to keep its feet dry in winter where it can be moved under cover if necessary.
Large 12cm diameter, showy, white, cupped flowers with a bold yellow centre and a delicate sweet fragrance are loved by pollinating insects. Be sure to give this plant a home near to your patio to receive the benefit of its scent.
Its dark glossy leaves are semi evergreen usually keeping most of its leaves all year round, yet a fiery display is had as the weather cools. Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade in a sheltered position.
Prune to shape in early spring.
Supplied as a 3 litre shrub approximately 30-50cm high.
