Its flowers have cerise red sepals and magenta fading purple petals.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn summer pendulous blooms hang from the stems. Each bloom forms into a bubble shape which make a satisfying 'pop' if you squeeze them. Each flower hangs like a spinning dancers dress as its outer sepals curl up to reveal its coloured petals beneath. As each flower fades they simply drop off so no messy deadheading.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHardy Fuchsia can be treated as annuals and replaced every year as their growth is quick and floriferous, however these varieties are Hardy so will come back each year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOfficially classed as shrubs, because the lower stems become woody, I tend to think they behave more like a perennial. In most winters, in most areas of the UK, with the exception of the warmer south, they will lose all leaves and top growth bar a few centimetres of woody stems. \u003cbr\u003eIn late spring they begin to regrow not only from the woody stem but from new shoots produced from its roots underground.
