Planting and Flowering Information
Likes moist well drained soil and is Fully Hardy
Large variegated leaves and purple bell flowers too!
What is not to like about this hosta? Deep blue green leaves with a bright gold margin emerge in late spring from what I can only describe as a tube unfurling.
The large leaves provide quite bit of ground cover and prefer a slightly shady spot with moist soil. Hosta also look superb in containers and this one has stunning purple bell shaped flowers which hang from a stalk in summer too.
Hostas are eaten by slugs and snails so plant through gravel, bark or egg shells where snails do not like the prickly surface preventing your plant from becoming a delicious snail lunch.
An easy care plant which is supplied as a 2 litre pot grown plant which is approximately 2 years old. In winter Hostas die down to below soil level for a complete rest before regrowing in spring.
