English lavender at its best.
Aromatic foliage and lavender blue flowers in summer this evergreen plant with grey green foliage grows anywhere in a sunny spot. A hardy coastal plant too all it requires is its roots kept dry - or in free draining soil. Loved by pollinating insects but moths and mosquitoes avoid its scent. Perfect for lining pathways to your door or plant in containers around your outdoor seating area.
Easy to care for, after flowering trim the plants with shears or scissors to keep in shape. Lavenders respond well to an annual trim, but be careful to not trim too low into brown stems as they only regrow from green stems.
Tip- make your own lavender bags to ward of moths from your favourite woollen jumpers. Whilst trimming into shape collect some of the lavender flower heads. Place stems thinly in a bucket. Keep in a warm, ventilated area rotating stems regularly to allow to dry. After drying strip the flower heads away from the stem and fill little bags or place in a bowl as potpourri.
