The lotus vine or parrot flower.
An unusual tropical looking trailing plant with fern like grey / silver foliage that looks like fluffy tufts along its grey green stems.
A lovely summer basket plant on its own or planted underneath shrubs in containers.
Lotus is an evergreen tender perennial so bring into the heated conservatory for all year round interest.
In summer its parrot beaked shaped and vibrantly coloured flowers hang from its stems. The flowers will keep coming until autumn. Remove spent flower heads by gently stroking its trailing growth.
Lotus requires a full sun location and free draining soil. In winter either discard as a bedding plant or bring indoors and water sparingly.
