The bright orange leaves emerge in spring on its delicate looking branches. Fading to a light green with pink key line margin as the summer progresses. In autumn its leaves turn a fiery orange before falling leaving its woody framework in winter.
Japanese acers are not difficult to grow all they require acidic soil, or for pots ericaceous compost, a part sunny site away from direct summer sun and shelter from cold drying winds which scorch their delicate foliage.
