Amelanchier Rainbow Pillar
Pillar shaped small tree with fabulous autumn leaf colour.
A recent introduction of Amelanchier. Growing with a slim, tall habit, like a pillar.
In spring the open 5 petalled scented white flowers are produced. The flowers are followed by blue-black berriers and are loved by the birds and edible to us too! Known as the Saskatoon berry they have an almond like, earthy flavour. The best berries are prodicyed when grown in full sun.
Its small green leaves turn firey shades of red, orange and yellow in Autumn before falling.
Ideal for growing in smaller gardens or in containers due to its nautrally slim and upright habit.
No pruning required with the exception of thinning branches to open the shape of the tree if it begins to look tangled. Prune after flowering.
