Davidia is a fully hardy, deciduous shrub which offers many months of interest in the garden.
Deciduous, attractive, heart shaped foliage starts green in Spring. The emergence of the leaves is followed by small white flowers with purple anthers which are surrounded by large, creamy white bracts. As the bracts hang from the plant, they have the appearance of handkerchiefs, giving this unusual shrub its common name.
Then, during the Autumn months, Davidia puts on a fabulous display with the foliage turning wonderful shades of golden yellow.
Best planted in full sun, Davidia has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its fantastic garden performance.
