A striking architectural plant perfect for creating a focal point in either beds and border or a large container.
Giving a tropical feel to the garden, Phormium Yellow Waves bears long, strappy leaves which can measure up to 100cm when mature! The green foliage is stripped cream, yellow and lime. With maturity plants can bear tubular red flower spikes in Summer.
Drought tolerant and also tolerant to salt. Plants are not fully hardy. Free draining soil and avoiding prolonged periods of frost should be enough. I've had one planted in my own Cambridgeshire garden for 10 years without any issue or protection.
