The bright orange leaves emerge in spring on its delicate looking branches. Fading to a light green with pink key line margin as the summer progresses. In autumn its leaves turn a fiery orange before falling leaving its woody framework in winter.
Japanese acers are not difficult to grow all they require acidic soil, or for pots ericaceous compost, a part sunny site away from direct summer sun and shelter from cold drying winds which scorch their delicate foliage.
Japanese acers are slow growing plants that reward you with year after year of colourful foliage which gently sways in a light breeze.
