Silvery white markings and striking red veins.

Heuchera Green Spice has striking green leaves with silvergy-green markings and deep red veins.  In summer, flower spikes hold dainty, pale pink blooms

Perfect for planting at the front of borders or in pots and containers. These weather tolerant plants are clump forming and semi-evergreen, adding a splash of colour in the garden when other plants are starting to fade.

Supplied as a 2 litre Pot Grown Plant

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Holds an RHS award

Green Spice carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit, a mark that it performs dependably in gardens and keeps its silvered, red-veined leaves looking good.

Copes with dry shade

This clump-former tolerates drought once settled and thrives in the difficult shade under trees, holding colour where thirstier plants struggle to establish.

Colour when others fade

The semi-evergreen foliage stays on show late into the year, carrying interest through autumn as summer perennials around it begin to collapse.

About This Plant

Green Spice was selected by Terra Nova Nurseries in Oregon from the North American woodlander Heuchera americana, and it inherits that parent's toughness. The leaves are silver-green over-washed with a metallic sheen, edged in green and cut through with dark red veins, and cool spring and autumn weather deepens the tones noticeably.

By autumn the foliage can flush toward orange, extending the show before winter. The main task is dealing with the woody rootstock, which tends to lift itself proud of the soil as the crown ages, so mulch around it each spring or lift and replant a little deeper to keep it anchored.
