Beautiful blooms, a sweet fragrance and attractive foliage all in one!

A beautiful and fully hardy evergreen shrub with year round interest.  Easy to grow, compact and well suited to both borders or container gardening.

Glossy green foliage which takes on a purple/bronze flush during the winter months.

A long flowering period, bearing sweetly fragranced blooms from May through to November.  Flowers are soft pink in colour with deeper pink sepals giving the flowers a two tone effect.  Funnel shaped flowers are highly attractive to pollinating insects.

Plants grow to around 100cm height and spread and enjoy a spot in full sun or part shade.

Simply give the plant a light prune later in the Autumn to remove the spent flower and remove any dead/damaged stems and a good trim in spring. Regular watering and feeding twice a year, in Spring and Autumn, with a slow release fertiliser is all it needs although a little deadheading will help to encourage more blooms too.

Supplied as an established plant in a 3 litre pot

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Scent through two seasons

Sweetly fragranced funnel flowers keep coming from early summer well into autumn, carrying their perfume across patios and along paths.

A magnet for pollinators

Bees, hoverflies and butterflies work the nectar-rich blooms for months, giving late foragers a reliable food source as summer fades.

Colour after the flowers

Raspberry-red sepals hold on after each petal drops, so the shrub stays colourful between flushes and on into the colder months.

About This Plant

Raspberry Profusion came out of a breeding programme in Griffin, Georgia, where Carol Robacker and Sloane Scheiber crossed the old favourite Edward Goucher with Abelia chinensis in 1998. From eleven seedlings, a single plant earned the name, picked for flower panicles that can each carry several hundred individual blooms.

Glossy foliage takes on a purple-bronze flush as temperatures drop, so the shrub earns its keep even at rest. Care stays light: a tidy in late autumn to clear spent flowers and damaged stems, a firmer trim in spring, and a slow-release feed at each end of the growing season.
