One of the most impressive and sought after plants in the garden, Agapanthus provide a truly magnificent display during the summer months.

Twister is a stunning hardy perennial with white buds on elegant stems opening into very unusual bi-coloured blooms complimented with long, strappy foliage. Perfect for pots and containers (as prefers roots to be restricted for enhanced flowering) or beds and borders where the soil does not become waterlogged in winter - they like their roots well drained.

We recommend a liquid feed once a month throughout Spring and Summer and some protection throughout the winter. Can be divided in Spring once established.

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Holds an RHS award

The Royal Horticultural Society gave this variety its Award of Garden Merit, marking it out as a dependable performer in trials.

White tips, blue base

White buds open to florets with clean white tips over a violet blue base, a two-tone effect uncommon among summer perennials.

Stands up to coastal salt

Salt tolerance lets it hold its own in a seaside garden, and the long stems cut well for a vase indoors.

About This Plant

Twister was raised at the De Wet Aloe Farm in South Africa and carries the code name Ambic001. It came from crossing Agapanthus praecox subsp. orientalis with the hardier campanulatus, which is where its two-tone florets and its vigour both come from.

The leaves die back for winter, so cut away the tired foliage once it yellows and clear it from the crown. Feed monthly through the growing season, and split a crowded clump in spring on the years you want more plants.
