Colour changing shrub with year round interest

Coprosma Evening Glow is an easy to grow and maintain evergreen shrub that has a compact shape making it ideal for pots and containers as well as beds and borders.

Glossy orange, red and green variegated foliage intensifies in colour as the temperatures start to cool in Autumn.

Slow growing, its requires very little maintenance but would benefit from a sheltered spot in the garden as it can suffer in very cold Winters.

For best results plant in full sun.

Supplied as 1 x 4.5ltr shrub

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Colour that builds with cold

Green and gold summer leaves flood with orange and red as autumn nights cool, peaking just as borders empty.

Tough by the sea

Salt-laden winds that scorch other shrubs leave its polished leaves unmarked, making it a reliable choice for coastal gardens.

Gloss through winter

Its lacquered leaves reflect low winter light, keeping pots and doorstep displays bright through the darkest months.

About This Plant

Evening Glow was selected by Growell Ornamental Plants in New Zealand, home of the whole mirror plant tribe. The name suits it. Through summer the rounded bush sits quietly in greens and golds, then the first cold snap sets the sunset shades running, and the display carries on deepening for months.

It asks for very little through the year. Plant it out of the coldest winds, since a hard inland winter can brown the foliage, and let the soil drain freely. A light trim in mid spring tidies any weather-marked shoots and keeps the naturally dome-shaped habit dense.
