Pure white flowers with a rich, sweet scent.

New Breeding - Philadelphus Petite Perfume white is a compact and mound forming variety of Philadelphus perfect for pots and containers as well as beds and borders.

Flowering from May to July, the profusion of blooms are pure white in colour and have a rich, sweet orange blossom fragrance.

Tolerant to drought and air pollution once established, this fully hardy, deciduous shrub will tolerate temperatures down to -25c.

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Orange blossom scent

The pure white flowers release a rich, sweet orange blossom fragrance from May to July, strong enough to drift across a patio or seating area.

Loved by bees

Open white blooms draw bees and butterflies through early summer, bringing steady pollinator traffic to pots, patios and mixed borders.

Compact enough for pots

A naturally mound-forming habit sits happily in a container for years, bringing a classic border shrub within reach of courtyards and balconies.

About This Plant

Petite Perfume White is a recent introduction from Hillier Nurseries, raised by Alan Postill, the propagator best known for Daphne 'Jacqueline Postill'. It brings modern breeding to a shrub gardeners have grown for generations, pairing the fresh green foliage of the old mock oranges with the free-flowering nature of a new cultivar.

Once settled in it shrugs off dry spells and urban air pollution, and it stands winter temperatures down to minus 25. The one job that matters is a light prune straight after the blooms fade, cutting flowered stems back to a strong shoot so next year's display forms on fresh wood.
