Double Flowering semi-dwarf Hibiscus that is simply beautiful.

Ideal for growing in beds and borders or pots and containers this goergeous Hibiscus is ideally suited to growing in the British climate.

Producing soft pink, double blooms from June to October, Sugar Tips also has fabulous variegated, marbled looking foliage in creamy-white and green. A highly floriferous variety that will offer many months of pleasure in the garden.

Both heat and drought tolerant for best results grow in full sun.

Supplied as 1 x 3ltr shrub

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Two-tone foliage

Leaves come marbled in creamy-white and blue-green, so the shrub earns its place in the border for months before the first flower opens.

No stray seedlings

The double pink flowers are sterile and set no seed, so you get the display without seedlings springing up around the garden to weed out.

Draws in butterflies

Late-summer flowers pull in butterflies and bees at a point in the year when nectar is starting to run short elsewhere in the garden.

About This Plant

Sugar Tip is a variegated form of rose of Sharon, correctly named 'America Irene Scott' and found as a natural sport of the plain green species. The pom-pom blooms sit against that pale, marbled foliage for a soft, two-layered effect, and the whole shrub drops its leaves for winter.

Bright light brings out the strongest variegation, and once established the plant copes with dry spells without complaint. Pruning is simple: it flowers on new growth, so shorten the stems in early spring, cutting harder if you want a denser, more compact bush. A spring feed sets it up for the season.
