Beautiful two tone flower heads.

Agapanthus Phantom throws wonderful ball shaped flowerheads with a pretty two-tone effect of white flushed pale blue and makes a striking summer display in the garden.

Flowers appear from July to September and are highly attractive to bees and other pollinatiing insects.

A taller variety of Agapanthus, the strong stems reach approximately 1m tall of the evergreen, sword like foliage.

For best results grow agapanthus in a sunny spot in the garden, either in beds and borders or pots and containers.

Supplied as 3 x 9cm plants

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Bees work the heads

The pale two-tone globes draw bees and other pollinators up onto tall stems, keeping insects fed high above the rest of the planting.

Two-tone flower heads

Each round head mixes white florets flushed with pale blue, a softer colouring than the solid blues that fill most summer borders.

Green through winter

Sword-shaped leaves stay put when the flowers are gone, holding a clump of structure at the front of a border over the colder months.

About This Plant

Phantom comes from Agapanthus praecox stock, the evergreen South African side of the family that keeps its leaves rather than vanishing each autumn. Through the year it works as a foliage clump first, then throws up its stems and opens those pale, blue-edged heads well above the greenery.

Grown in a pot it flowers most freely, since crowded roots suit it. Feed monthly once growth starts and keep the compost draining freely, then move containers somewhere sheltered before hard frost, as this one wants protection through a cold snap.
