Colour changing evergreen perennials for year round interest.

These super Euphorbias are drought tolerant, evergreen perennials with grey-green foliage which is flushes pink/red when young and then again during the colder winter months.

Flowers appear from March through to July and are green, cream and red in colour.

Fully hardy, these Euphorbias prefer a sunny spot in the garden and will reward with many years of colour and performance.

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Copes with drought

Copes with drought and poor, stony ground once settled, earning a spot in gravel gardens and dry sunny banks where thirstier plants struggle.

Winter leaf colour

The grey-green, yellow-edged foliage takes on a red flush through the colder months, keeping the plant worth looking at long after flowering ends.

Unusual flower heads

Flower heads open in acid green, cream and red, an unusual mix that reads from a distance and holds for weeks in the border.

About This Plant

This is a hybrid of two Mediterranean spurges, Euphorbia characias and Euphorbia amygdaloides, with the variegated form selected by the Australian plantsman David Glenn. The evergreen rosettes of narrow leaves stay in place all winter, so the plant carries structure even when the border around it has died back.

Once the flower heads fade, cut the spent stems right down to the base to make room for fresh growth from below. The milky sap irritates skin and eyes, so wear gloves for the job and keep the cut ends away from your face.
