This attractive low maintenance shrub is perfect to add some unusual variegated foliage to your garden beds/borders and will compliment all colour varieties of nearby plants and shrubs beautifully.

Growing as a small, bushy shrub or even climbing up against a wall, this versatile Euonymus will display an abundance of pretty, variegated leaves with jagged white margins which will take on a pink tint in the Winter. An ideal option if you are considering creating a small hedge or screen with foliage all year round (some leaves may fall in exposed areas) and recognised for its performance by being awarded an RHS AGM. Small clusters of petite green flowers occasionally form in early Summer.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2 litre pot, this Euonymus fortunei Emerald Gaiety measures approximately 25-30cm on receipt

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Holds an RHS award

Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, marking it as a reliable garden performer judged over years of trials.

Pink winter margins

In cold weather the white leaf margins take on a soft pink flush, adding quiet colour to beds and walls through the winter.

Ground cover or climber

Left to spread it covers the ground, but set against a wall the stems climb, giving evergreen cover for a fence or shady corner.

About This Plant

A variegated form of Euonymus fortunei, Emerald Gaiety comes from a Chinese species long valued for tough evergreen cover. Its rounded leaves carry an irregular cream-white edge that stays crisp through the year, and small green flowers appear here and there without adding much to the show.

Upkeep is minimal. A trim in spring keeps the growth compact, or you can guide the stems where you want them if training against support. It settles into chalk, clay, loam or sand and asks only for reasonably drained ground, tolerating the dry soil found under established trees and hedges.
