A charming evergreen shrub bringing an attractive contrast of colour to your garden especially if planted alongside plants with burgundy/red foliage.

With its glossy, green, white margined leaves all year round, this robust and very easy to care for Euonymus will be content in pretty much and position with just some slow release fertiliser twice a year and doesn't even require pruning (unless there are a few over eager stems!).

Supplied as an established shrub in a 4.5 litre pot with a height of approximately 30cm, this cheery shrub will grow to 1m x 60cm.

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Bright all winter

The green leaves keep a bright cream-white margin all year, so the shrub lifts a shady corner even in the depths of winter.

Lights up dry shade

It brightens ground beneath trees and large shrubs, taking the dry partial shade that leaves many evergreens looking dull and thin.

Takes any spot

Content in sun or shade and unbothered by most soils, it settles into difficult spots and takes hard clipping without complaint.

About This Plant

Kathy is a selection of Euonymus japonicus, the Japanese spindle, grown for its neat habit and two-tone foliage, with flowers that count for little. The small leaves hold their gloss through every season, pairing well with darker planting like a purple-leaved shrub or a clipped yew set behind it.

There is almost nothing to do. A light trim in late spring, with a second tidy in autumn if any stems race ahead, keeps it dense and shapely. Two feeds of slow-release fertiliser a year cover its needs, and it stands up to wind and coastal air.
