Create a tropical sensation in the garden this summer!

Hibiscus Ghost is sure to create a stunning focal point in the Summer garden and will flower into early Autumn too.

Ghost has dramatic dark foliage which is a spectacle in itself but just wait until the super-sized flowers appear.  Measuring up to 20cm, the large white flowers add a tropical touch.

Fully hardy these beauties will flower year after year with just a little care.

Fast growing plants need to be cut back hard after flowering in Autumn ready to re-grow the following Spring.

Flowering time July - October

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Dinner-plate blooms

Pure white flowers reach up to 20cm across, a saucer-sized display set against dark foliage that turns the plant into a summer focal point.

Draws in pollinators

The wide open flowers give bees and other beneficial insects an easy landing pad, so the tropical looks come with real value for garden wildlife.

Dark leaves all summer

Deeply cut, near-black purple foliage holds its colour through the season, a striking backdrop that stands on its own before a single flower opens.

About This Plant

Carousel Ghost is a hardy perennial hibiscus bred by Alain Tan, part of the Carousel series developed from the North American Hibiscus moscheutos. Despite the tropical appearance it comes through British winters down to around minus fifteen, dying back to the ground and returning from the base each year.

The deeply incised dark purple leaves emerge first and build the plant's frame before the huge white flowers arrive from midsummer. Growth is fast, so give it full sun and moist rich soil, then cut the whole plant hard to the ground after flowering in autumn so it can regrow strongly the following spring.
