A clump forming evergreen grass known as the Chinese Fountain grass.
Lush green slender arching foliage in spring and summer fades to yellow and then brown in winter which is attractive all year round in the border or containers.
In late summer to autumn silvery, purple tinged bottle brush like plumes appear on sturdy stems which sway in a gentle breeze looking stunning with frosty cobwebs too.
During late autumn its green leaves and bottle brush blooms dry and remain looking stunning all through winter and into spring.
Preferring a sheltered spot with free draining soil and full sun this plant is hardy in coastal areas and most areas of the UK providing they are kept well drained.
Simply revitalise the foliage each spring by haircutting 5 - 10cm above ground level.
