Starry white, sweetly scented flowers.

A unusual form of evergreen Vibrunum with rounded, green foliage. Fairy Stars bears dainty white flowers with a sweet fragrance from April to May.

The small flowers cover the bush creating a starry like effect and are followed by red berries which mature to black.

Compact in form, Fairy Stars grows to around 100cm in height and spread and is well suited to bed and borders or pots and containers. Fully hardy and low maintenance.

Rounded green leaves stay on the shrub through winter, holding a compact dome of foliage in beds and pots when deciduous plants have dropped.

Berries for birds

White spring flowers give way to red berries that darken to blue-black, feeding garden birds through the later months of the year.

About This Plant

Fairy Stars is an evergreen viburnum grown for its neat rounded habit and small, glossy leaves. Clusters of creamy white flowers open in a loose lacecap arrangement, each bloom fine and star-shaped, which gives the plant its name. It suits a border edge or a large container near the house.

After flowering the shrub sets berries that ripen from red through to a deep blue-black, adding a second season of interest. Care asks little beyond an occasional trim to shape once the flowers fade, plus steady watering while young so the roots settle before their first dry summer.
