Wonderful creamy yellow star shaped fragrant blooms!

Star of Toscane is a real head turner - bearing creamy white star shaped flowers which mature to a gorgeous shade of buttery yellow.

Not only are the blooms pretty but they also bear the most amazing sweet fragrance.

Trachelospermum require a sheltered site away from cold winds in full sun and free draining soil.

Prune annually in spring by removing thin or crowded stems or renovate by chopping down all of its stems by 2 thirds which will encourage new shoots to arise from the base. Top dress with a feed.

What This Plant Brings to Your Garden

Award of Garden Merit

This star jasmine carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit, a sign it earns its keep as a dependable evergreen climber for a warm wall.

Flowers that change colour

Creamy white stars open in summer and age to a soft buttery yellow, so the plant shows two tones at once across a trellis or arch.

Fragrance that travels

The blooms give off a sweet scent that drifts well beyond the plant, filling a sheltered courtyard or seating area through the warmer months.

About This Plant

'Star of Toscane' is a modern selection of the Asian star jasmine, bred for its unusual yellow-toned flowers rather than the plain white of the species. Like its parent it climbs by twining and belongs to the dogbane family, keeping glossy foliage through the colder months.

The creamy blooms deepen in tone as they mature, giving a shifting colour across the plant. It needs the warmth and shelter of a sunny wall to flower well. Prune in spring, removing weak or crowded stems, and feed with a top dressing to keep growth strong.
